There are significant differences in chemical structure, physical properties, and application scenarios between PE (polyethylene) stretch film and PVC (polyvinyl chloride) stretch film. From a chemical structure perspective, PE is polymerized from ethylene monomers, with regular molecular chains and no chlorine containing elements; PVC is a polymerization product of vinyl chloride monomer, with chlorine atoms in the molecular chain. This structural difference directly affects the properties of the two.

In terms of physical properties, PE stretch film has good flexibility and low temperature resistance. Even in environments of minus tens of degrees Celsius, it can maintain good stretchability and flexibility, is not easily brittle, and is suitable for low-temperature scenarios such as cold chain transportation. It has high transparency, facilitates observation of the contents inside the packaging, and is non-toxic, meeting the hygiene requirements of food packaging. In addition, the self adhesiveness of PE film mainly relies on slight electrostatic adsorption on the surface, with relatively weak but long-lasting adhesiveness, suitable for packaging light to medium weight items.

PVC stretch film has high tensile strength and rigidity, with strong initial adhesion that can quickly adhere to the surface of items. It can effectively prevent items from sliding during packaging and is suitable for packaging irregularly shaped or heavy items. However, PVC has poor low temperature resistance and is prone to hardening and brittleness at low temperatures, which affects its performance. Moreover, PVC releases harmful hydrogen chloride gas at high temperatures or during combustion, making it less environmentally friendly than PE film.

In terms of application scenarios, PE stretch film is widely used in packaging of food, electronic products, daily necessities and other fields. Due to its non-toxic and low temperature resistance, it occupies an important position in cold chain logistics and food preservation packaging. PVC stretch film is commonly used for packaging building materials, metal products, industrial components and other products. With its high viscosity and strength, it can effectively fix heavy items and prevent shaking and damage during transportation.
